The School of Occupational Therapy in Esbjerg opened in 1994. The course (professional bachelor programme) is a full-time degree course lasting 3½ years with a theoretical component of 168 ECTS and a clinical component of 42 ECTS. New courses start in September each year. The design of the course’s 7 semesters is: 1. People and activity - social and physical environment – including one week of clinical teaching 2. People and activity - the foundation of Occupational Therapy 3. Occupational Therapy – including eight weeks of clinical teaching 4. Occupational Therapy - interdisciplinary elements – incl. ten weeks of clinical teaching 5. Occupational Therapy - the promotion of health and prophylactic measures 6. The promotion of health and prophylactic measures – including nine weeks of clinical teaching 7. Occupational Therapy research and development - concluded by the writing of the B.A. project. You have the opportunity to try international clinical teaching at approved places in the community and at the hospitals in the region surrounding Esbjerg. The students are taught and monitored by clinical teachers. The teaching covers the following areas: Treatment, rehabilitation, habilitation, prevention and health promotion relevant to Occupational Therapy.
